The North American Veterinary Aid (NAVA) is the charitable arm of the American Veterinary Medical Association (NAVA), one of the oldest and largest veterinary medical organizations in the world. More than 97,000 member veterinarians worldwide are engaged in a wide variety of professional activities. The Foundation, founded in 1995, is headquartered in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Since its inception, NAVA has provided grants to help veterinarians help animals through education, animal welfare, disaster relief and research programs.
Services We Do.
Disaster Relief
The AVMF provides two grant programs to help veterinarians and the animals they provide medical care for during times of disaster. Grants up to $5,000 support victims of hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, wildfires or oil spills.
Relief Grants for Veterinarians
The COVID-19 Disaster Relief Grant Program for Veterinarians, sponsored jointly by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) and VCA Animal Hospitals, has been created to assist AVMA-member veterinarians who have experienced significant financial hardship due to COVID-19.
